About Me

People say I'm:
-
Describe Yourself:"I recollected that her eye excelled in brightness, that of any other animal, and that she has no eye-lids—She may therefore be esteemed an emblem of vigilance.—She never begins an attack, nor, when once engaged, ever surrenders: She is therefore an emblem of magnanimity and true courage.—As if anxious to prevent all pretentions of quarrelling with her, the weapons with which nature has furnished her, she conceals in the roof of her mouth, so that, to those who are unacquainted with her, she appears to be a most defenceless animal; and even when those weapons are shewn and extended for her defence, they appear weak and contemptible; but their wounds however small, are decisive and fatal:—Conscious of this, she never wounds till she has generously given notice, even to her enemy, and cautioned him against the danger of treading on her.
Was I wrong, Sir, in thinking this a strong picture of the temper and conduct of America?[2]"
B. Franklin

Ellie !., Oct 5, 2009, 10:35PM EDTOH, no! There's not much than working in retail through Christmas. You know, I did it for years...until 24 years ago! Out of college...for 11 years...seems much longer, I worked retail advertising. Enough to make you not enjoy Christmas one, little bit. I need to get back to baking bread again...threw out my starter over the weekend...ha!
I'm exhausted. Couldn't sleep last night. zzzzzzzzzzzzzzz -
Rosa See Ya, Sep 25, 2009, 2:11AM EDTHi, I see that you are connected with Carolion. There is some news about her in a post on my homepage. Please read, thank you - Rosa

Ellie !., Sep 22, 2009, 10:29AM EDTI seriously need to toss my sourdough starter...it may be toxic by now. LOL. My fav part of breadmaking is kneading! No no-knead for me.

Ellie !., Sep 22, 2009, 10:28AM EDTThe barley yard sounds cool. Will it grow tall like regular barley? I always loved watching the wheat and barley sway in the wind.
GOOD LUCK on the job. I know there will be lots of aps, but you've got skills, girl!
My mom would have loved doing all the seed and bread things you do. She hated housework, except for baking! Much preferred being outside. Now, she's living in an apartment for old people where she doesn't have to cook or clean. Now she just parties! It's great. What she deserves.
Back to you...you deserve that job. Good luck! -
Ellie !., Sep 21, 2009, 10:21AM EDTNice to hear from you! I bet you're squeezing the garden. We are enjoying unseasonably warm weather...88 today, 90-something tomorrow. My bedroom was 54 this morning because the windows were open all night...too cold to get up to close it!
Have a good week. -
Ellie !., Sep 9, 2009, 11:25PM EDTHey...look below...you've been pinging yourself. You must be tired!

Ellie !., Sep 9, 2009, 11:19PM EDTI'm afraid this economy is going to get worse before it gets better. We've really dug a deep hole over the last decade. I know I'm in a good spot, but I also know it could go south at any time. I'm sorry it's been rough for you. I think things are looking up here...but, then again you never know. I think some people are born lucky with the positive thinking switch turned on. The rest of us have to struggle to find it, dig it out from under the pile of crap, then look for some way to leverage it on. Hang in there...sending you some positive thoughts.

Ellie !., Sep 8, 2009, 11:45PM EDTHey, there! I'm thinking that I've been so busy/stressed that I need to toss my sourdough starter. It's somewhere in the back of the fridge. How does your garden grow?
